CURRENT PROS & CONS LIST
This is the section where I have a dilemma and can't decide on my own what to do. So I ask for your input. Use the 'Contact Me' forum page and send me either your pro or con on the current predicament and I'll add it to the board.
To Get Or Not Get An HP Laptop
I currently own a 15.4" Gateway 2009 laptop. Needless to say with a speaker that went bust my first week owning it, a fan that makes worse grinding noises than a jammed pencil sharpener, a built-in desire to constantly piss me off.. I think I've arrived at the time for a new computer. I've sent this back to get it fixed via warranty, I can't tell you how many times. Basically, Mr. Highway [My computer's name 'The Good Son' movie reference.] has had enough. Here I decided on a HP Laptop, so let's get going with the Pros and Cons.
PROS
- It's a new computer.
- HP's are reliable
- They have the sort of memory I need without needing to buy more RAM.
- HP has the initials of my fictional husband, Harry Potter.
CONS
- It's costly. [I dont make a lot of money.]
- I can still use my Pita-Pos computer, despite it driving me insane.
- I have no guarantee I wont run into similar problems with this one as I did with Gateway.
- There's so much on this computer, the thought of transferring it makes me nauseous.
Annoyance of the Moment
Support of the LGBTQ Community.
No, this isn't an annoyance. I'm using this area as an awareness for the moment. I am enraged. There is so much hate in this world, and the internet has just become another tool to fuel it's ever growing size.
There is a group on Facebook, devoted to the Tumblr idea to wear PURPLE on October 20th, in honor of the spirit of the recent slew of sucidies of gay youth.
Noble in its efforts, this group is under constant fire. Where there is support, there is hate. You cannot have one without the other. If there was no hate, there would be no need for 'support' it would just be an accepted fact that some of us are gay, some of us are not. Oh the idea of a perfect world.
I got out of the website support busines a few years ago when some personal problems affected my avaiability to help. I left behind a lot of good people and felt awful for that. But my hands were metaphorically tied.
I am back, after what I witnessed today in just a short period of time. My fire has been relit and I hope one has been lit under you as well. We must stand together against the oppression of the indecency of others. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU IF YOU ARE GAY, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU IF YOU ARE STRAIGHT. I had to let that out, my apologies. I am so frustrated by this.
I promise to you, I will be your support, and will never stop in the fight against the hate in our community. Pass this on to all you know, and let them know there is a place to turn. I do not judge, I do not hate. Gay or straight.
To all those brave men and women on that Facebook page, like myself, posting your support for the tragedies that strike, I commend you for you voice. Don't ever let it be silenced.
